Our Company
Medico Boom Consulting was founded on a simple observation: most medical billing companies treat spine surgery the same way they treat dermatology. They shouldn't.
Spine surgery is one of the most technically complex specialties in medicine, with operative reports that routinely combine multiple procedures, approaches, and levels — each with its own coding rules, bundling logic, and payer-specific nuances. A generalist biller looking at a two-level ACDF with hybrid disc arthroplasty sees words they don't understand. A specialist sees exactly what to bill, what to bundle, and what modifiers to apply.
We built Medico Boom to be that specialist. Based in New Jersey and serving practices across the tri-state area, we work with spine surgeons, orthopedic groups, pain management clinics, and neurosurgery practices who are tired of watching legitimate revenue get denied because their billing team doesn't know the difference between 22551 and 22554. Michael Salomon · Founder & Principal Consultant Michael founded Medico Boom Consulting after fifteen-plus years inside spine surgery practices across New Jersey — first as a coder, then as a billing operations lead, then as the person practices called when their claims kept getting denied and nobody could figure out why. His work has spanned some of the highest-volume spine and orthopedic practices in the region, including Spine Care of NY, NJ Ortho Group, USA Spine, and NJ Spine Group. Along the way he built expertise in the specific areas that separate specialist billers from generalists: operative report coding, aged AR recovery, denial pattern analysis, and the payer-specific rules that determine whether a claim gets paid or bounced. Michael also authors the Medico Boom Surgical Case Study Series — professional CPT coding reference guides for medical coders working in spine and orthopedic settings.
